This thread reminds me of my parents. They had a bed about king size and they were spending the night pretty much on their respective night stands. There was always room for another couple in the middle!
Well, we like sleeping close to one another. On a king size, it almost feels as if you could put a Burger King and the on-ramp to a freeway between the two of us.

I was in a twin until I was 26, then a full sized for about 2 years, and now I have a king. I love it.
My parents have a queen, and I remember being younger I thought they had the biggest bed in the world. Now I go over there and it seems so small.

I think some people's bed sizes are dictated by their rooms. I have a big master bedroom in my house, it's like 2x the size of some of my friends, so I have no problem fitting a king in it.

Yeah it does take up some room!! I even had one when I was married...and our bedroom was really way too small for a king. But we sure loved it!

If it were just me in the bed I would be fine in a twin size bed but my husband is tall and we have a bunch of kids who love to get in bed with us on Saturday and Sunday mornings to read the paper and chat about the weekend!

When we first got married I had an antique wrought iron bed that was not quite a full size and my poor husbands feet would hang out the end by the morning!!

I like snuggling after um..., but for me, to really sleep, I can't be snuggled up to someone - I get too hot and I will toss and turn all night. Once I go to sleep, I might as well be in bed alone. So a king works great...we just sort of drift over to our sides during the night...and come back together in the morning.

My parents have twins in one of their guestrooms that I use when visiting. One thing I've noticed is how much shorter they are. I don't much care for my feet being extended in mid air while sleeping.

I NEED a Queen sized bed. Half for me, (the smaller half), half for my
13 lb. Havanese dog.

He likes to stretch out during the night. lol

Actually it is amazing how much room such a small animal can take up.

I'm used to sleeping in twins but last fall I had a full sized bed in my homestay in Mexico and OH what a difference it made! I could spread out, have all my work with my in bed, twist and turn and sleep however I liked. It was great.

When I stay over at my boyfriend's, its only a full and I feel suffocated. :P I almost always end up sleeping out on his "man couch" which is just as comfy and I have room to breathe.
