I can't completely agree with you. While using one's "wiles" to get more of what you want, is possible, most men aren't going to change in major ways after marriage. Women who think they will, are deluded and are heading for problems.

The main advantage that foreign women have is lower expectations. The women of my Mother's generation had this going for them too, they all stayed married and were really happy about how well their husband did.

Their daughters are almost all divorced!

That's true. I'm thinking more in subtle terms like the woman helping the man focus his ambition. She can't make him ambitious though.

My ex-wife prodded me into buying a house. I would've rented indefinitely, just by not giving house-buying much thought. She was more focused on our future than I was, which turned out to be a good thing.

It might be helpful to remind her that not ever date is a life relationship. It's a date - so lighten up and have some fun. It's ok to know what you want in a man. But no one (not ever her) is perfect. It might be good to ask her to explain what the man might have thought of her!
