I too thought about why this post is on the education board. Still, I'll answer. I'm a teacher. I don't think I will be able to have a child (or at least want one) as long as I still teach. My BF ( who is probably going to be my husband) does not really want kids. So, I may never have children. If I do, I think I'll have to leave the classroom.

I replied to this thread in the education forum. I think that most of the people in this forum may already be parents. Maybe you should post this in the relationship forum.

I was older when I had my kids, had had a "career", and all the good and bad that entails. Having my children was the greatest thing I ever did. I can't even put it into words.

You'll never be completely stable in all aspects of your life. As a parent, I do think it's a good idea to have a plan going into it, but be prepared to have to resort to Plan B. Life happens.

Most people have kids because it is expected, not because they are dying to be parents. Sad, really.

You have it all wrong, kids are supposed to respect adults, not the other way around.

You're funny.

How many threads about not having children can we have in the parenting forum?
It is getting old.
Maybe we parents should ask the administrator for a "parents only" forum.
