IMO, romance is the state of affection between two people. Not to go all wiggly on the word, but I look at "romance" as a noun. It becomes a
verb (romancing) or an adjective (romantic) when one person does something he/she knows will have a positive, loving effect on another.
Oh God, I have finally tipped the "gonzo" scales!
- forgive me.
The most romantic thing my husband ever did for me? Our last day of vacation years ago - Easter Sunday morning. He tipped a waiter (really well!) in Aruba
to set up a table on a deserted section of beach. We came around a divi-divi tree & some rocks and there it was; set with flowers, fresh squeezed OJ &
breakfast goodies. A stuffed rabbit was wearing a necklace and holding a card. When I read the card, I had to go back to the room & find the maid to
read it to me! Hubby tipped her to write his message in Papiemento (native lingo).
The time & effort he put into that was, I thought, very romantic. The message on the card was the very best part.
