When you do a search using the word "chick" it seems to be only brought up as 'condescending' when it is a younger guy describing an older woman. If it is generic or an older guy no one mentions it.
As much as I agree with Andreapercheron's response which you felt was suitable, I nonetheless have to disagree with her and agree with others that your thread was titled very misappropriately when you used the term "chick". There's another thread on this forum which is titled something about dating a Muslim "chick" and I haven't (and probably won't) even look at that one. Take it from a very old hen that "chick" in reference to a woman isn't a good choice of a word.
No doubt if women referred to"young *****", "old *****", just "*****" or - ouch - "capons" (if you don't know what a capon is then google) in their thread titles, there might be a similar discussion about the use of words from the male side of the theater.
In any case, I would have taken your thread way more seriously had you not used the term "chick" but would also advise you that an age difference of only 6 years is so incredibly minimal as to be not even meritous of a thread unless you really are a half-witted 26 year old with little to no experience whatsoever.
