Of course. Managing your finaces as a single person or as a married couple is a business arrangement. What did you expect?

Everything 100% commingled since day 1. One checking, one savings, joint investments (but seperate IRA's of course), one credit card ONLY.

She pays the bills, I do the budget, we make no major purchases without joint consent. It has worked very, very well for us.

I spend it and he replenishes it.
Good luck finding this arrangement with the cabana boys you're dreaming about!

Well, that's about right! Which is not to diminish your real job, though! You can't pay me enough to do your job!

To clarify, I'm not talking about the wedding itself but the life together afterwards.
Everything except my husband's inheritance from his parents is joint.

wow, I feel like a minority!

From day one, some 27 years ago, we joined our accounts. For the past 17 years, we have owned our own company so I manage the financial end of things. I am the one who created the savings accounts, paid all the bills. He says he goes and kills it, and I make it into what we need. Seriously, we discuss all major purchases, and it works out fine. He does not want to know how much we owe, or even who we owe. If he needs something for business, he will ask me if we can do this or that and I tell him. Sometimes I wish he would sit down and allow me to tell him what is owed but he will not.

Sounds like it should be to me, unless the man is more responsible, which is rarely the case.

mrstewart's "real" job is her family, that other stuff she does is secondary.

JMHO of course.
