And yet another questions for the ladies.
When I was at the grocery store yesterday I was in line and when I turned around there was the young woman maybe 23, she was very pretty and dressed in a nice little sundress and she had a nice pleasant looking face. When I saw her I smiled at her, not a pervey trying to pick you up type of smile. Well she kind of looks at me like back off old man. I'm like WTH. While I'm no Brad Pitt, I'm certainly not an lecherous ugly old man. So I kind of just look away. This got me to thinking about the ladies here on the forum.
So my question to you ladies is how do you respond when a guy makes eye contact or smiles at you. Do you act polite or act snobby like that one at the grocery store did.
BTW Mrs Chow says she's polite and smiles back.

I usually end up talking to everyone and if I'm not talking to them I am making eye contact and smiling...they probably think I'm creepy! haha!

Depends on the guy. If he looks like a letch, smells, or appears to be homeless, I'd probably have the same reaction as the girl.
(Not implying you are any of the above of course!!!)
But generally, I smile back.

I usually smile back! Even at the lecherous ugly old types, too. It's the stupid, clueless ones that are hard to be congenial to.

If I am creeped out, which happens occasionally, I will give a grin back but avoid eye contact...no toothy smile involved.

I smile back,
if someone is kind enough to take time out of their day to say hello or be polite,
then you should return the favor and perhaps ask them how their day is going.
But if this person is giving me the creeps, I smile back (to not be rude) and exit stage left IMMEDIANTLY.
I pray that answers your question, and also..

Hello back, MsFloyd
Yes, I'd like to clarify my answer to Chowboy; I'm just talking about going about your everyday business, passing people in and out of stores, etc. I just smile in a casual, friendly manner. I'm not batting my eyelashes and looking coy. Also, I probably wouldn't smile at a bunch of guys leaning against their car and leering at you. ( )

I would smile back. There are enough people in this world who rush by frowning, so I like smiles.
Every time I went to Lowe's in MD, the latinos always had a big smile and a comment...most of which I couldn't understand! I may not even want to know...I used to smile right back...they were much nicer than the other people at that store!
