I can only take so much- one of my friends lives by it. But since he and I are alike in that we both are in and out of thought all of the time, it's easier to carry a brief convo over an hour's time if we only txt back and forth about 6 times.

Same here. And it mostly didn't even make sense at the beginning as it used to be more expensive. I happened to be in Europe at the time it was already popular there and not yet here and was wondering wth they bother with it... Turned out it was less expensive. OK, that I can understand... Unless you wanna say something in private, it's a totally worthless exercise to me. As I'm not around texters much and hadn't traveled for a while, I was amazed by the speed of some at the airports. They look like stupid hamsters on a wheel. Eh, come to think of it, it's just a different version of what we're doing here... cpg, for instance, never misses an occasion to label TV "an idiot box" as if staring at a monitor and breaking your fingers pecking is waaaaayy more sophisticated and wise...
