In some ways I think it would actually go some way in levelling off the inequalities...I know it might sound weird to many now, since what we've grown up with, but think about it, in the 1920s it was unthinkable for women to even wear trousers, so who knows, if we're still around in 2200 clothing may be more uni-sexual. Or then again it might be similar to now. I mean the idea of men wearing skirts, for instance, is really more conservative than them wearing pants. Like back in ancient times, lol. Of course even then in most societies males and females dressed differently...one interesting thing, in most of those societies the women were more covered up, now the women are showing off more of their bodies while men are covering up, lol.
Anyway, I actually think the 70s were kinda uni-sex in some ways, of course not in others. You saw alot of uni-sex jeans, tank tops what not. I dunno, there's some liberating about fashion not being SO divided along gender lines...Alas though, you aren't going to get me in a sequined pink cocktail gown anytime soon!
that would be horrible! imagine you actually checking out a dude when you think it is a woman. i don't know if i could at myself in the mirror the same way after that.
For awhile in the early to mid 90's during the "anti-fashion"/slacker movement, men and women were pretty much dressing the same. I miss those days. Flannels, ripped jeans and doc martins. Nodody gave a crap. Nowadays, people care wayyyyy too much about looking "cute". It's boarderline annoying.
Maybe not completely the same way , but the unisex fashion of my salad days was not that bad, it would be a way to fight the extreme backlash in sexual mores we are unfortunately witnessing nowadays.

That was great. I haven't given up the doc martens. The 80s were pretty androgynous, in a different way.
Nope - can't do it. I'm far too much of a girly-girl, femme fatale to want to look like a man, and I like my men looking like .... men.
