If a guy tells me I'm cute & I think he's handsome, then I'll let him know in a *flirty* way but one friend told me I was crazy for doing that, because if it didn't end well...then, he'd still go on thinking he was cute regardless all because *I* said it...
Did that make sense? Ladies, do you tell your SO he's cute or *reaffirm his self-confidence* in other ways? What's wrong w/ that?

Are these girls married? Have they EVER had a serious relationship? Please! Of course you tell a man that he is handsome, smart, capable, hard working, a good provider, a great listener, a good friend, a great cook, *and * awesome in the sack.
What on earth are they thinking? You are never going to have a successful realtionship if you don't praise your partner to the skies. Too m any women don't understand this concept at all. Small wonder the divorce rate is 50 percent.
Do yourself a favor and ignore your "friends". Complimenting a man on his good qualities is the best way to keep him happy with your clothes on.

Complement him on his parallel parking and keep doing it all they into the restaurant.
1. Wow you did that in only one try!
2. There must be only a few inches to spare!
3. I saw people watching you they were amazed!
He‘ll definitely let you order the most expensive thing on the menu.

I definately compliment my SO if it is true and heart felt.
My stbx a.k.a. Princess, needed to be complimented all the time or would get his panties in a bunch. "Sweetie, you are soo handsome, did you lose weight, your sexy, what a tan, you can do anything, blah blah blah". In that situation I became a little resentful having to constantly stroke his ego.

I don't mind telling her. It's more about her reaction to what I say. I'd rather get the surprised 'thank you' over some 'you know you like this' or something like that.

If anything use backhanded compliments. Which are compliments that sound like a compliment but in reality are insulting her. Something a long the lines of, "That dress does wonders for your figure."
The last thing you want is the female you are banging having a high self-confidence. She'll start to think, "Why am I with this loser, I can do better."

You don't get into a long term relationship if you want freedom
People that want to be together are not worried about their freedom.
So to give a compliment to someone you’re dating is not going to make them say
“Ummm I am so good looking cause killer told me so that I can do better.
Well my be in your case it might after she finds out you are a male
Gigolo and that you are a pig she will know with out any compliment
from you to RUN!!!!!!

Agreed....why must there be some hidden agenda....
And if his ego gets inflated from occasional compliments and he starts to think he is god's gift to women and too good for you, then he probably had issues to begin with.

I think we men need praise and women need attention, But you really got to know the guy to know what he is proud of.
