I figure, that ought to be the international marriage agencies marketing at work. Google up "Russian bride" or "Thai bride" and you'll bee overwhelmed by the flood of agencies trying to make a buck selling you the idea that a Russian or Thai girl would make you an instant happy match which idea keeps trickling along the grapevine into the minds... Then, surprise-surprise! Woops! "That was advertising" Whether it will work itself naturally into a happy relationship, YMMV and the chances probably are about as good as with your high school sweetheart or the lady you saw today in a coffee shop... Just apply the same amount of energy and such you spend on your overseas passion (obsession)...
