Digital Entropy is on a distinguished road
Oddly, it was never a deal breaker (with them) but I was usually more resistant because they always got along with my parents really well and I usually ended up in huffing and puffing while they all got into some engaging convesation.

Dude, seriously, move out of your parents house. If anything for your own sake. Even a 1bedrom, studio or hell even renting a room in someone else's house is better than living with parents. When you live with parents they will always be monitoring your behavior. If you bring a girl over, she has to meet your parents (major pain in the ass). Also if you are bringing over the girl you can't really have sex with her if your parents are home.

When you live alone, you call the shots, you make the rules, you do what you want to do! Without anyone finding out *grin*.

Also when you live alone you can always have a nice, secure, private, and clean place to bring the girl to have sex. For many girls that is a huge plus if they live with roommates or they still live with parents.

and yes, I would say that women do look down on men who live with their parents. They are considered losers and not successful. I think the only reason it would not matter is if the girl is also living at home or you are in college. They may also not care if they have no plans on having sex with you.

I am twenty five and live with my parents. I get along great with them.

I lived with them while completing my undergraduate degree and masters degree. And I have ZERO student loans to show for it.

All of my friends are moving out to look cool and they are barely able to pay their rent.

I will have zero student loans/debt and will be able to make a huge down payment on my own house within the next 2 years.

And that will be while everyone else is drowning in student loan interest and is still renting an apartment

I think if you are going to college you get a pass. But if you're working in a low wage dead end job or do not work at all, it's going to be an uphill climb.

I don't think so. My dad and I did not have the greatest relationship when I was younger. When I entered my 20s he started to warm up and see me as a man. Being home allowed us to bond better as father and son. My wife was living at home anyway. We were both finishing college.

Yeah, I second this. I'm away @ college now but after I graduate, I'll be moving back in just to begin saving/paying off student loan debt...also, because I don't know exactly what I'd like to study in graduate school.

But yeah, I would hope it wouldn't be a dealbreaker...then again, if it is...well I guess it's like a weeding-out process.

With this economy, you won't be alone in telling a girl that you live with your parents. I would imagine there are a lot of older kids moving back home. My kids still live with me (21 and 19) but the 21 year old is moving out in June and the younger will move out sometime after that.
I would rather tham save money, have something in the bank AND be able to afford to live on their own rather than rushing them out and having them move back in because they got into a financial bind. We all get along great so I don't feel like they are in my space and my daughter has a b/f and he spends the night all the time (they are moving in together) so I'm fine with their situation and they are fine with it to.

The men I like (40 and over) would have to have no arms, no legs and chin themselves around to justify living with their parents.

It would depend on why they are living with their parents. I knew a guy whose parents were very ill so he lived at home to help take care of them. Also, in this economy, a lot of peopel are having move in with family to start over.
