I don't believe in a singular fated soulmate that one may or may not find in this life time. As I see it, having a soul mate is to be with someone whom you can share the same dreams, values, laughter, and tears, in short...being with someone of the same mindset.

A while back, a mutual friend asked us this question,"you guys seem to be so content, what's your secret?" (this was after 2 or 3 years of marriage.) My husband easily answered with, "when I go off on a tangent, she follows while everyone else is left behind.)

I have had several...
class mates, room mates, office mates, cyber mates, etc., that I really enjoy having interactions with, in this case...I call them "kindred spirits."

Soul mate has become code word for those having an adulterous relationship. Which has become epidemic. They use it to justify what they are doing. Only fooling themselves though.

How does that Bob Segar song go? "Some say love is a losin game..you start with fire then you lose the flame."

The weak one in the relationship tends to stray.

The definition of soul mate is "a natural liking towards someone" unfortunately the meaning has been perverted.

No, the idea is as stupid to me as an old man hanging around in the sky listening to prayers and somehow giving a crap about this planet. There are over 6 billion people on this planet, the idea that you have only 1 person who is your "soul mate" is ludicrous.

The people who start these Soul Mate threads couldn't possibly be subscribing to the real definition. That just wouldn't make any sense.

Quote:
(soul mate) someone for whom you have a deep affinity.
So technically, "Do you believe in Soul Mates" would be something along the lines of, "Do you believe there're people in existence for whom you have a deep affinity?" Affinity, in this context, being a similarity of characteristics suggesting relationship compatibility.

Seriously though, how incredibly stupid would that kind of a question be?

I am disappointed that the administrators of City-Data deleted my video at simple gesture.net.
And I protest. It is NOT advertising.
I am not selling anything. I am sharing a message I made for my soulmate and lovers everywhere.

Please do not delete such things in the future without first looking through them yourself!
