Most introverts have desirs to talk, be in social situations, or put yourselves out there like most extroverts are prone to do. They can be people persons. Introversion doesn't equal shy- it's a determination of how you are energized. Most of the time (not always) an introvert can be around people, socialize, and enjoy the party, but eventually they will need to pull back and be alone, to recover. So to all my fellow introverts in this thread, it's not extroversion you are experiencing, it's probably more comfort in the situation. In the end, most of you agree that after a measure of time, it's time to fall back and be alone. That's introversion.
I was an introvert as a child and through my early 20's. Then I came out of my shell and became very comfortable as a person. I'm not a flaming extrovert, but definitely an extrovert. My mother moving to CA helped a lot with my confidence levels increasing. She's a very dominant personality.
I am an introvert. I need and enjoy time alone, but I enjoy being around people, too.
However, the article tends to simplify things by giving people only two categories to belong to: introvert or extrovert. In reality, it's probably more of a continuum with people falling somewhere between the two extremes — Aspergers on one end and narcissists (a.k.a. vampires) on the other.

There's dangers to enjoying too much time alone. You can get spoiled by not having people around to spoil your introverted fun. As I get older, it's gets worse and worse. You not only become a friend to yourself, but a lover to yourself as well and it can be a sure path to exciting selfishness.
Before long, you're even taking your vacations alone.

Hmm, I was taking them alone in between being married, too.
