My cleaner of 1 year and a half left me today.

She was doing a very very good job in the beginning. And always did a little extra than what she was supposed to. The past 2 months, though, she began to cut on the basic things she was supposed to do and not pay much attention to what she did do (creased shirts, dirty glasses mistaken for clean and put in the cupboard, a few broken items). She also massively cut on the time she was supposed to spend here, although I was paying her on a number of hours' work (and around midschedule she was nowhere to be found... )
With this crisis it has become very difficult for me to come up with the money to pay for cleaning and I would've expected her to not cheat...

I knew she was sensitive and a very emotional person so I thought about how to formulate my frustration to not hurt her
(cleaner was good to me after boyfriend was kicked out, she brought me flowers and did a good cleaning on that week's visit).

While she was cleaning house today I called her to tell her something and I also added I would appreciate if she were a lil more careful. 'What with, she asked?' "With work around the house, I said, I think the amount of time we agreed upon for one visit could acommodate that'.

And I come home to this note, telling me 'thank you for everything!!!!!!! .... I definitely will not be coming anymore! I found another place. I've tucked your keys under the door'.
Just out of curiosity, had you given her any kind of a raise during that year and a half? If not, she might have felt her work wasn't appreciated.

She probably had other offers . When the missus told her her job wasn't good enough, she took that as a reason to split.
