I'm a firm believer your name shapes your life in a way. I wish I didn't have such a serious and unfortunate name! One of the reasons I decided to keep my ex-husband's last name is it lightens up my first name. No wonder the stars change their names.

I just looked up some random names. Check it out:

Eve Arden - Eunice Quedens
Mike Connors - Krekor "Kirk" Ohanian
Kirk Douglas - Issur Danielovitch
Ted Knight - Tadeus Wladyslaw Konopka

In other words, real names do not stars make! Some names just sound appealing and sexy and others don't!

My name is the name of a famous actor. However my parents give me a nickname when I was a year or two old. Luckily I use that "nickname" as my first name. The only time I use my "real" name is for all of the legal type of stuff.

Over the years in dealing with people and upon seeing my name they always have to talk about the actor, sometimes doing a bad impression of him.

It's gotten to the point where I'm sometimes rude to peope when they start to say "Oh your name is..." I sometimes polietly say yes,yes and try to change the subject.

I also love the names Nicholas and Alexander.

Also Nigel, Jack, Sebastian, Justin, Jesse (most J names actually), Christopher, Drew, Joey, Tony (or Antonio).

Just to name a few.

That's funny. I have a "thing" for J names, too, for some reason. Maybe because we don't have them back home... They sound cool to me. Unfortunately, some of them probably belong to Jehovah's witnesses...

Ugh! And J-name guys have always gotten me in so much trouble. Justins, Joe's, Jason's, Jesse's. So much trouble.

But so much fun!
