Anyhow he is now in a relationship with another woman and they live together and have a child. I'm happy for them but i don't want to get in the way so i said well we should not hang out as much and i planned on not contacting him anymore. He called me the other day out of the blue and says i got an idea. "I love you and her the same and don't want to lose you so how about you be my girlfriend number two!, you'll never find anyone else who will love you or do for you as much as me, ill take you out and do for you as much as i do for her, everybody will be happy and if someone isn't well deal with it" I laughed and laughed. For one i am not interested in a relationship and know from being friends with him this long what type of person he is and just the fact that i keep telling him its not gonna work and he will still call me and want me to come to their house when she is gone shows he has issues. I just couldn't get over the girlfriend number two thing. Who does that? What a loser i'm glad i'm not girlfriend number one. I feel sorry for her. It is time to leave the past behind.

Is he, by any chance, in a relationship with this lady?

Boyfriend wants me to get a girlfriend...

LOL, perfect!

He better be joking!
Its insulting that he said that. Like you were just so dumb that he thought he would convince you. And you....he must think you are desperate enough for him ,to actually go for it!

After that comment I would seriously reconsider our friendship.

I'm happy that you decided that being girlfriend #2 is not in your best interest. Your ex is immature, greedy and don't care about who he hurts. You need to end all contact with him and move on with your life. He won't change, you could only change your circumstances and you made a great choice.

There was a True Life episode about this and the boyfriend was a real winner. Two girlfriends, one more reluctant than the other, of course he knocks one up and the situation got a whole lot stickier.

I'm not really into this type of solutions, but that's a quite original idea, Julia! Gotta give it to ya!

That's just sad! I feel sorry for his #1 and their child. It's obvious that he doesn't care about anyone but himself.
