For parents......if there were no financial or other barriers, would you have more children?

I would.

Not for ourselves, no. I would carry a child for my sister or good friend, though. Both of them have had high-risk pregnancies and will probably not have another on their own.

We might adopt later in life.

I don't have any now but if money were no object I'd probably start having kids next year and keep going until I had at least 3.

I was an only child and hated it and am set on having at least 2, but right now I can't even afford one.

Nope. I have a 16 year old. There's no way I'd start all over again.

Even, if I had a 2 year old, nope.

I don't know if its the fact that I've been raising her alone, for most of my life, but I find parenting very difficult and its just not an experience I'd like to go through again with another kid.

Do you think you would have a different perspective if you were married/hooked up and the father was also raising the child? Would you want to try again?

Nope. Too selfish to be responsible for another human being now.

I have got to tell you, I truly admire people who are know themselves well enough to know they are not ready or don't want children...there are so many times people have children and are not ready/don't want them and everyone suffers. Good for you, PTC!

I doubt it. I'm too selfish. I like to go out and party when I want to, shop when I want to, and just basically do things when I want to without having to worry about what I'm going to do with the kid or worrying about finances, saying things like "oh, we have to hold off on buying or doing this this month, because Little Johnny needs money for football camp and equipment". So no.

Oh, thank you, Ma'am. Sometimes selfish isn't such a bad thing, is it?

Nope. I've known my whole life that I had no interest in having kids. Fortunately I met and married a man who feels the same way. We had the income, just didn't have the interest. We like our time to ourselves and have no interest in being tied down.
