Only been knowing this woman for 3 weeks and this past week I had two situations that had me a little sad and I was talking to anyone. So the woman who sits next to me was showing so much concern when she saw how sad I was and asking me what's wrong and offered emotional support to make me feel better and it actually worked in both situations. Is she supposed to be doing this? Why was she so concerned that I was not feeling well and only been knowing me for 3 weeks?

TVSG you really need to get out more into the real world. Why on earth would you even question the motives of someone kindly trying to cheer you up whether that person has known you for a few minutes or a few years? And what do you mean by asking, "is she supposed to be doing this?" What, you think you should report her to HR for some reason? And what does her having a boyfriend got to do with anything? Jeez!

No kidding. You just wrote exactly what I was thinking. I am wondering if the OP grew up in a cave perhaps.

It was just odd to me that someone I have only known for 3 weeks was spending so much time trying to make me feel better and we have yet to devlop a friendship. I just figured the person would see I was not in a talking mood and just know to talk to me when I was feeling better.

She probably thought you were on suicide watch and just tried to help. Carry on.

Whatever it is I would think she has more to be concerned about than my emotions.
