Doesn't it make you roll your eyes when people complain about not finding true love in between shots of Patron? Bars are conducive environments for meeting people in a sexually-charged, mostly inebriated atmosphere. Take that for what it is and go have fun!

Exactly, its is not as though a person can order up a side of true love with their wings. On top of that its often the case that one or both people won't be able to remember exactly who they met or what they talked about anyway.

I've met guys like this before, and I get the feeling that if they COULD meet a new woman every time they went out to the bar, they wouldn't hate it so much.
Regarding the men an average, decent self-respecting woman meets in bars:
If a male acts shallow, desperate, and cheap, is HE a floozy?
If a male feigns interest to toy with a woman's affections, isnt HE phony?
If a male looks better put together than the women present is HE a bimbo?
If a male frequents happy hours looking to ahem, bag prey, isn't HE a bar-skank?

Most people at bars drink, and that isn't something I do, or want a partner to do.

It is possible to find someone who doesn't drink at a bar, but you must admit it would be rare.

The only bars I go to are sports bars where they show the football on big screens. I don't go there to hook up or get laid. I go there to socialise with mates and watch the game. I don't even pay women attention at all. I usually then get a few girls approach me with the old tedious "Why don't you buy me a drink" line, but they are quickly rejected.

I go to karaoke all the time. It is still in a bar, but totally different kind of people.... Turns into a karaoke "community"..... Also things like salsa lessons etc are in bars, but you can meet great people.... I go to the local pub across the street where they serve some of the best food going, and also, not one bimbo or floozie have I met....

True. A lot has to do with the overall character of the bar itself along with what time it is (after work vs. 1230 am on a weekend).

I like to hit happy hour once a week. There are lots of single people there because they don't have to go straight home to their families. And I rarely see anyone plastered. And I find that the case with more decent places. Decent places won't tolerate drunks and cut them off. It drives away a lot of other patrons if they don't.

I see people getting sloppy drunk all the time at bars, even where they have karaoke. The KJ's even encourage patrons to have a few drinks of "liquid courage" even though it makes one's voice sound atrocious.

It's a business. If the bar can't make money, they won't keep the show.

When I go out to the bar I go with my girlfriends. I have no intentions of a manhunt...it's about fun with my friends...

You might find a good steak in a dumpster, but that doesn't mean that looking for a good steak in a dumpster is a great plan.
