No, chances are they mean exactly what they said.

Yes, grasshopper, that is a very astute observation..and quite true.

This is hardly news. There must be a million Country & Western songs about the suitability of bar goers as potential mates.

I saw this thread and had to add my two cents. I give up there just aren't any decent women out there and I refuse to set foot in another bar. I'd rather do something productive. When ever I drink I end up regretting it later. So screw it; I'm done. I guess I am at the mercy of the universe now. Just let it run its course eh? And if it happens then it happens. I supposed I'd rather be unmarried and happy then be married and miserable.

It really is a shame that bars are the only place on earth where one is able to meet people they don't already know.

I'm not sure if anyone exists who advises to go out and check the bars in order to find your mate, so you're probably on the right course. (I did happen to find my mate that way, heh-heh, and it worked out, but I sure wouldn't advise it... )

Anyway, yes, one thing you have to accept while you're living on this earth, is that, for the most part, it's out of your control. I hate cliches, and this is so cliche, but just ease off and go about your business. Things will happen, "it" will happen... Trust me. And try to have fun while you're doing that...

No I really do think there are a lot of floozies and stuff at bars and clubs. It's not my scene.

The thing with bars (as opposed to meeting people through friends, at school, or at work) is that you don't know that person's background story. You don't have reference, so to speak.

With that said, I've dated girls from just about every place you can think of (school, military bootcamp, 7/11, bars, clubs, through friends, etc). I haven't found much difference between the quality of the girl. I've met some awesome, genuine girls at bars. I've also met some real nut jobs. Ditto to every other place I previously mentioned.

Furthermore, I have a few friends that actually married girls they met in bars. ALL of them have good relationships. So you never really know.

If you're not trying to meet women at a bar or club, you're short-changing yourself.
