Even many years later, I never say never and always expect the unexpected to come around the next corner when I least expect it.
But if you're really lonely, depessed, feeling hopeless, that's a bitter pill to swallow.
And if you're in the middle of a relationship or marriage, and the totally unexpected happens at the least likely place, the offender is going to retort:
The ugliness of the future is its uncertainty.
Just because of the unexpected happening, at any time, any place, it can create a lot of surprises, joy and pain.
One never knows when or where it could happen to any of us and our whole world turned inside out.

Reason: Add a line
We were on Spring Break and one of my friends got so wasted that he decided to just get out of the car(traffic jam) and just wander through traffic. Eventually, some girl was alone and he asked her why she was alone(in a wasted voice). He got into her truck and "hung" out with her all night. All of a sudden, we had an extra guest for the rest of the trip. It was weird that she was alone, she was new from Canada but smoking hot. Months later, they married. They got divorced 3 years later however.
I don't really think I've met anyone in "unusual" places and hit it off. I guess the most unusual place in my life would be Diego Garcia (Google it if you don't know where it is). I was there for work for two months and met the first real love of my life who happened to be working there for a couple years. We had a whirlwind romance for about a month and then I left to go home and we continued the LDR for another year or so but when he came to visit me for vacation he realized I wasn't the one for him and broke it off
Years later he had a change of heart about me but by that time, I had moved on and no longer had a romantic interest in him. We are still friends.

i dont think its that unusual, but years ago i was in a hotel lobby in buenos aires to meet a friend's friend for site seeing. i ended up mistaking this guy that came out of an elevator for the guy i was supposed to meet. i found out within a year minutes of talking to him, that it was a different guy (but they were on the same company tour together). we exchanged cards, and flew out to be with each other. it didnt last more than 1.5 months though. lol. just the way we met each other was almost like something from a movie.
