Not acceptable. Who is this S/O; boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife? If he is boyfriend/girlfriend my response would be "goodbye". Husband/wife, my question to you would be "why"?
Maybe that person doesn't believe you and thinks you're just kidding?
