Well we went to high school together, but of course thats been a minuet. I don't know, i just wanted to see what he was doing now days and talk about what was going on in our lives and how its changed since high school and i found out more than i wanted to know...he wasn't a bad person back in the day but i see now things have changed. I don't see anything wrong with having a date with someone to catch up on old times. Now if i decided to pursue something with him i feel like that would be a problem.

I've never gotten that. Either I'm with someone or I'm not, there is no "in-between". I don't believe in the whole "friends with benefits" thing.

it all depends what each person's definition of "single" is

some consider they are single if they are not married
some people call it single if they are willing to have sex with you

so i don't just ask "are you single" i am more likely to ask the many-part question:

"are you single" (as in, not married)
"are you available" (as in not in a relationship, not living with a lover, not with a girlfriend, looking to date)
"are you monogamous" (as in not lots of different sex partners)

because it doesn't matter what the word means to YOU, it's how THEY define it.

He just sounds like he's full of himself and probably a number of STD's as well.

I met a man yesterday and during our conversation he told me how a woman came over and gave him oral sex yesterday. And then he continued to explain how his ex girlfriend whom he was not with anymore since last month wanted him to give her birthday sex that night, and how another woman whom was pregnant was still calling him for sex, but he wasn't sure if the child was his or not, and another woman whom he considered only a friend was supposed to be coming to see him that next weekend. But yet and still you claim to be single.
How can someone claim to be single with so many options. It made me wonder is anyone really single if they have other options.

OK, OK, I admit it. I'm the friend here. What can I say... women adore me.

I agree. Don't let this guy teach you math, or you'll come away believing this

To me, if you aren't married, you are single.
