For the short term, I think it will work for you. Most women do the majority of their maturing by the time they hit 30 y/o. In other words - she is 20 now and will not be the 'same' woman in 10 years that you know her to be now. But for now, just go have fun. With 20 y/o women, at your age - chances are you may run out the door by the time the "90 day" time period is up (probably less at 20 y/o) when a woman starts to show her true colors. (You know about the "90 day" time period, right?)

So you are suggesting 24 years age difference (!). And, show me a 38 year old woman who would be glad to date a 62 year old.

Let's take an 80 year old man. The rule will point him to a 47 year old woman. Good luck hunting!

Guidelines folks...kind of what would be considered socially acceptable, not meant to be hard and fast limits. BTW I'm sure anyone who is 80+ would be happy to date anyone. The difference in ages gets less important as people get older and mature (hopefully).

You think if your hubby kept himself up it would be crazy for him to date a woman approaching 40? I don't, as I've seen many successful men in theri 50s and 60s date women under 40.

As long as you're prepared to go see the new Twilight movie without vomiting, you should be good.

In a relationship where a 32 year old man is dating a 20 year old female, who pays? I would like honest opinions about eating out and him paying for every meal at any time should I be obligated to pay?

He owns 3 very successful businesses. He just bought a new house.

I am a college student working 2 jobs and paying for my own car and rent.

Thank you

At least no one is under 18 or 20 (take your pick). As long as the person is mature enough.

Age is just a number. I think our modern society places such a stigma on that number. No everyone ages at the same rate too. Some 20 year olds seem like 30 year olds, some like teenagers.

Why do you think it is? Is it lure of finances? Or is it more?

It's not the amount of years that makes this situation cringeworthy but rather the very different lifestyles that 20 years tend to have from 32 year olds. On average, a 20 year old is just much more immature than a 32 year old. Yes there are exceptions, but on average that's how it is. Now if it was a 40 year old and 52 year old, it wouldn't matter. Still 12 years apart but very similar in maturity and experience.

In the past, that didn't stop them from marrying and having kids with these guys. Divorce soon followed.

Then the 32 year old guy, who worked on his education and career, was pilloried for looking for younger women.
