Depends on maturity level.

I think it could work, and it's not too terribly bad, but having a 17 year age difference between myself and my husband, I wouldn't recommend it. In fact, I'm now of the mindset that for me personally, I'd never date anyone more than 5 years older or youger than myself - if I were single.

I think you're the man... Not as bad, but I'm 34 and hang around with a lot of 24-25 year old women. It makes me feel younger!

When I was 21 I dated a 32 year old for a while. Of course, he didn't look ( or act) a day over 25. In fact, when we went out, I would get carded for alcohol and he wouldn't. The reason we broke up had nothing to do with our age, we got along quite well.

The male probably has a maturity level of a 25 year old anyway, so I don't see why it couldn't work out.

Age is all relative IMO. My parents are 11 years apart and have been married for 26 years.

I think its kind of a large gap. It would be unusual for both partners to be in the same place - Careers, children, etc.
And I think as you age, the difference would not seem as bad...But then would get worse the older you get. You'd be an Older man of 61...While she'd be still in her forties...a Cougar
And you'd just be a dirty old man...
