A "stress relief buddy"? You are too romantic TV, even for me.
Seriously though. If you are ever going to find a SRB than you need to learn to either just be yourself, or become more interesting. The reason the girl did not respond back is because what you posted was very lame. Sorry to tell you that. A girl can tell when a guy is lying, and it is not attractive.

Don't you do anything more exciting or dangerous? The hard facts are, women on dating sites are on there to find someone to bring excitement to their lives. They watch the clock from their cubicle, leaven work, run home, fling off the heels, make dinner, then proceed to veg out in front of the TV watching some life sucking show like The Hills or Project Runway.
They're looking for someone to ruin their weekend plans and to take them somewhere where they can be set free and forget all about their pathetic lives. That you have to understand.
Telling by your username, you don't come across as any of that, right?
I think everything can be summed up in one word "interesting." Are you interesting??? Is your life interesting??? Is what you say interesting??? Is what you wear interesting???
When a women calls you up and asks what are you doing, what do you say? "Nothing...just watching some tv."
Fail
Make something up, anything if you have too.
"Well, I'm over at Dale's house, sitting on the pooper, reading his wife's Home&Garden. Very interesting recipe for crumb cake in here."
That's how it's done. You've pretty much slapped her in the face with various conversation starters. And she's picturing you naked in the mean time.

Good advice Hans. Because everyone knows no hot blooded woman can resist a guy sitting on the pooper reading Home & Garden.

Your reply sounded generic, like something you'd think a gal would want to hear.
Try this:
"I enjoy walking along the waterfront at sunset as the cool breeze of the evening draws near. While there, I always seem to wander to this little sidewalk cafe where they serve the best cappucino in the city. I'm challenging myself to find a better cup, but I have yet to find it."
First, you're being descriptive. A woman can actually see and feel the evening without being there, which in turn, piques her interests. Second, the last line is key. Every woman loves a good challenge. The last line challenges the reader to immediately think of places where they had great coffee and a possible meeting place to accept said challenge. Third, it also says (subtlely) that you're interested in "exploring new places".
Think of it as a job interview; you wouldn't just say, "I sit in a cube all day and while coding PC reports."

It doesn't take a rocket scientist OR an English Major to use a freakin' spell checker. I have to agree, that would turn me off so fast to get a reply like that. At least make an attempt to appear educated by having the courtesy to spell correctly when you email someone.

Oh, come on...at least his post was "interesting", right? That was the message he was trying to get across to TV&SG.
(A little humor goes a long way to winning women...quick wit will get chicks faster than good looks for a guy...and that's why TV&SG STILL doesn't understand why his original reponse was lame...)

Me personally, I like a guy to have a sense of humor and just be easy going. I don't want him to tell me things he thinks will "work" on me. So if a guy told me what you did, I would think he was trying too hard and probably never did any of those things you just mentioned above.
Just be yourself.
If you are casual and down to earth - be honest. Just say, I like to hang out with my friends, watch sports, sometimes catch a Dodger game. I also play basketball on the weekends, etc. There's nothing wrong with that! If a girl doesn't like that, then she's not the girl for you, plain and simple.

Miss, I was joking too. I actually thought his post was funny, that's why I responded.

I misinterpreted the "headsmack" at the end of your quote.
Sorry, hon!
I hate emoticon malfunction, don't you?
