Not yet 35 y/o and already divorced......gee-whiz!
I've been trying out this Dating website for about 3 weeks now. I have noticed A LOT of women that are under 35y/o, have already been divorced. I have seen many under 30 that were divorced.
I saw one profile and the young lady was 25. I'd be embarassed to tell someone I was divorced and I am only 25.
Damn folks, is it that bad out there?
(This can apply to men as well)

I don't see that as a big deal at all. Someone gets married at 20, it's seems like making to 35 is pretty near a damn miracle.

In my own personal opinion (don't you hate when people say that lol?), I think it's because many people get married when they're young and still evolving and growing as people and sometimes this change makes them feel like they're not right with the person they married anymore.
Also, some people get married because the girl gets pregnant. Some people do it because they're blinded with infatuation and lust. Some people just want to get married to be married.

In your own personal opinion, (And yes, I hate that.. but it's all good), I think you're absolutely right. I got married when I was 19, and divorced when I was 25. I was young and stupid, and for some crazy reason, I thought that I could handle being married, going to college, and working three separate jobs just to pay the bills. Now that I've grown a little older and wiser, well, there just wasn't any way.
Thing is, nobody that I've ever dated has had a problem with me being divorced. Now my being slightly psycho on the other hand...
I'll stop there.
Mango, excellent post!

Thanks!
Out of all my peers I know in relationships, there is only ONE (a girl who I highly respect) that I would support getting married. However, she is in a very rare and mature relationship with a very rare and mature gentleman. Hell, I'd throw her bridal shower for her!

I got married when I was 20 and left my husband when I was 26 (it took a year for the divorce to become final, so I was 27 when it became official). It doesn't surprise me when people divorce this young; you don't even know who you are at 20! Often times, a girl who has committed to rescuing a pothead, drug addict, or adulterer will finally grow up, become a woman and decide that's not what she wants to do for the rest of her life. This happens a lot when she becomes a mother, because suddenly, what was okay for her to put up with becomes completely different when viewed as damaging an innocent child. (Never mind that she shouldn't have had babies with such a man in the first place, but that's a different thread! )

OK, I'll fess up. I was married at 23 - a year later I was filing for divorce. Funny, after all these years has it finally become a big deal.
