Nothing wrong with reading, sewing or scrapbooking. Its just that those are hobbies you'll find that women 50 years old and over will be doing.

I see you read the classics. My wife does as well. Am I correct in assuming you are European (Russian perhaps)? Your hobbies are all really cool (especially the English Bulldog part). As a former dad of a few English Bulldogs I applaud you.

A few of my older women friends do have hobbies, but not so much the younger ones in their 20's. I think that the young ones shop in order to try to look like their favorite female celebrities. And they just want to make the most of their youthful good looks. Otherwise, I feel that it's more in a woman's nature to spend her time nesting and being nurturing. Once a woman has children, there isn't much time left for hobbies.

Personally, I don't consider playing video games to be that impressive of a hobby. It's really not a very productive way to spend ones extra time.

I've always had odd interests all of my life. When I was a teenager, I was into collecting small lifeforms and trying to start an ant farm. I also enjoyed bicycling, swimming and playing tennis with my friends. I also spend many happy hours in the libraries. In college, I got into the music scene, I'd try to see every Brit band that came into town. I even got to meet some of them backstage. After college, I was in a couple of local bands playing bass and then rhythm guitar. And that morphed into having a small collection of vintage electric guitars. Since then, I've started other collections of various collectibles and antiques. I'm particularly found of antique silver, and British and American art pottery. And collecting and having great luck finding underpriced treasures turned into becoming a fulltime antiques dealer. I'm into cars and I've autocrossed in them. I've done support for my boyfriend when he did the Targa Newfoundland Rally with his dad. I've also been a volunteer safety marshall for a couple of rallies. My future motorsports plans are to rallycross and eventually rally as a driver.

I also spend time with my dogs, all from shelters. Right now I have four adult dogs and four puppies at my house.

Arrogant is simply a word thrown around by stupid people who have low self-esteem. it's arrogant of YOU to think you're equal to me, that's what is arrogant. Only a person jealous of the fact SO MANY people are above them would assert that all people are equal. people are not equal, not by a long shot.
This guy sounds like he's about 19 years old going on 11.

Yes, the attitude in the posts is arrogant, and yes it is conceited.
It is not a good thing, it is disgusting and repulsive.

My last ex and I worked all the word puzzles in the newspaper on a daily basis...and even got puzzle books to work on together. I've known other women that liked to go out and sing karaoke, play pool, toss darts...those are hobbies. Some women like going to art museums--doesn't personally appeal, but...it's a hobby.

Get real -- you are the one who comes across like a mental midget, totally unable to debate any real points, just able to fling attacks like a two-year-old. Grow up.

Miu -- I think that is true, I think at least the ones who don't have kids develop more hobbies as they get older, though, and become more interested in more things in life. And playing video games isn't much of a productive hobby, but nobody said that hobbies have to be productive did they? I mean, I don't see how a lot of hobbies are productive, but they are enjoyable and fun. I don't personally have much time or interest in playing a lot of video games, but I do sometimes. I like plenty of hobbies that are not productive, though. How is it productive to follow my favorite sports team? It isn't. Or to review different types of absinthe? It definitely isn't. Even poker isn't particularly productive unless you win a big tournament.

I suppose the most productive hobbies I have are only hobbies because I haven't yet gotten paid for them, like screenwriting, but I consider that work and appropriately deduct expenses from taxable revenue. So it's not really a hobby.

Pretty much every woman I know has lots of hobbies... of course, I don't waste my time hanging around women who obsess about shopping or celebrities or gossiping all the time.

I ride horses and work on cars/aircraft... my best friend breeds reptiles and saltwater fish (and attends reptile shows and conventions), another one is striving to learn as many languages and visit as many countries as she can.

In fact, I don't think I know a single woman who doesn't have at least 1 hobby.....

I ride & show horses.

I bowl.

I collect trading cards.

My husband is jealous of the time I spend doing these things because he has no hobbies of his own.

I do not shop for anything unless the one I already have has failed.

I have never opened an issue of Cosmo, People, Ladies Home Journal. I have read many issues of Time, National Geographic, etc.

I don't own a nail file or a blow dryer.

Of course, unless you find that someone has a common hobbies or interests with you, then you notice them. But if they have some hobby like scrapbooking or knitting, I suspect that most men would tune that out and not notice it.

Most of my good friends have been men, because my interests are very male oriented. When I was in the bands, the women musicians weren't into the equipment like I was. And when I went to the vintage guitar shows, it did seem as if I was the only woman there actively looking at them.

I had a good friend that was into military collectibles, especially those from WWII. I would go with him to the military swap meets and the other guys were jealous that he had a female friend that knew something about those things. I had a real pair of Vietnamese tiger stripe camouflage pants that I used to wear to those swap meets.

My boyfriend tunes performance cars for a living. Sometimes I answer the phone for his business. The guys are always impressed that I can talk like a gearhead. And they often tell me that they wish they could find a girl like me to go out with.
