I think it isnt so unusual in Egypt for a large family to share 1 house.
It's not unusual at all. There's a man I know in another forum that is in Egypt that I have spoken with about the differences in living there VS the US. He and his 3 unmarried brothers still live at home with the folks - and the guy is a Lawyer, soon to be going up for Judge, who can afford to. Just different cultures. Correct-o!

I think part of me wants to say that ANY Middle Eastern woman who has the chance to enjoy any freedom of any kind should do it! But i dont know if that would be rude? Maybe the American women will know what I mean.

What would happen if you did not clean up after her and her things? If you left her things where she put them she will eventually put them away, right? Or is she the type to leave everything around?

Capt.Dan! That is not rude.......I know what you mean. The cultural in the east is little difficult........But I can tell you that my sister lived alone in the other house for two years to take her PHD, and nothing happened.
But the neighbour was knowing my father very much.
