11 is not a standard time to talk on the phone. I wouldn't read too much into this. Maybe it was just asked out of curiousity? I can see myself doing the same.
If a man said he wanted to call me just before I'm going to bed, he is telling me a) talking to me is not important to him; b) he is a control freak/potential abuser and wants to see if he can control me.
I don't ring anyone after 8.30pm (at a push) on a weeknight.
If they have children I don't ring after 7pm.
If they're a shift worker I don't ring after any pre-arranged time they nominate.
If they're elderly I don't ring after 7pm.
If it's dinner time, I don't ring.
The only time I'd ring someone after 9pm is if they'd specifically said it was ok to do so OR it was an emergency.
Her saying, "Why so late?" is her way of letting you know she's not really comfortable or unwilling to be on the phone that late at night. As far as I can see it's a non-issue. I'd just arrange another time that is more suitable for both of you.

Really? Forget that I was WORKING on my laptop and doing laundry and had to fix dinner
