This. I don't understand why so many grown adults have such difficulty understanding that people can do things in "moderation". I've basically made this same post on numerous forums here because it seems like so many grown adults just can't grasp this concept.
The thing with video games that I haven't noticed as much with other hobbies, is that sometimes moderation falls by the wayside. "I'll play for 10 more minutes" becomes "just a few more minutes" to "I'm almost done" and before the player realizes it, three hours have gone by and dinner's cold and he's missed the movie and his girlfriend is pissed.

Wife has a Masters and I'm pursuing my PhD and we both love killing people in Black Ops.
We also climb 14ers, mountain bike, hike, backpack, and camp amongst other things.
Just because someone enjoys playing video games doesn't automatically mean they're a lazy, uninteresting piece of crap. In fact, I'd argue that people that look down their noses at anything anyone else does for pure enjoyment needs to step off their soapbox for a minute to explain to all of us mere mortals what makes what they do so perfect.
Don't forget that what someone does for enjoyment is purely for them and if you meet a guy that plays video games you're more than capable of moving on and finding someone more "appropriate" for you.
Agreed. I'm actually very active and fit and mountain climb, backpack ,etc, all in the rockies which requires a lot of strength and effort! (not this season though, just had back surgery). But, I also like to game, I grew up on it. What's ironic is that video games have a stigma of being a kid activity, yet the biggest demographic is the 35 aged male. The stigma is completely unrealistic.
And FTR, Cosmo is pretty vapid, but Marie Claire is actually a decent magazine. They often have articles about women's rights and issues internationally.
