It's referenced in one of the coolest movies and one of the most popular movie lines ever said.

Gracie Slick's son named "God"
Cher's son's middle-name "Blue"
Frank Zappa's kids "Dwezel", and "Moon Unit"
Gweneth Paltrow's daughter named "Apple"

And my own, Franc-with an e, please, s which is the feminine spelling, otherwise known as,
"Francis" for a man, or "Frank".

Some have tried to pin "Frankie" on me, but I cannot see myself as a "Frankie".

I've gotten plenty of "Francis the talking Mule" jokes from those of us old enough to remember the Army mule that was made famous while co-starring with Donald O'Connor.

Thanks, this was fun!

I didn't read through all of the posts, so I hope I'm not just repeating anyone else's! Names that need about a 100 yr. break...

James aka Jim, or Jimmy
William aka Bill, or Billy
Cynthia aka Cindy
Brian aka Brian, or Bri
Johnathon/jonathan aka John, Johnnie
Charles aka Charlie
Brandon aka Brandon
Luke aka Luke
Matthew aka Matthew or Matt
Thomas aka Tom, or Tommy
Kevin aka Kevin, or Kev
Daniel aka Dan, or Danny...

What's aggrevating is working with people who share these first names. Seems like you're always having to find a way label each one of them (Brian #1, etc.)so that other people know exactly which one you're are referring to

Come on and get creative people!

Actually I wish we would see more of these names rather than McKenzie, Peyton, Taylor, Madison, Reagan (enough with giving girls names of dead presidents!), Brayden, Aiden, Jayden, Caiden, etc etc.

I'm not a fan of trendy names. Especially when parents try to get all cute with the spelling with lots of y's...like Madisyn, etc.

I think anybody naming a girl Regan must not have read King Lear. Or maybe they did but thought Goneril was too iffy.

Not fond of any of those either! If you get to choose the name (some of us didn't get to ) be creative, not trendy

I find the non-traditional spelling of the name Kathi a bit odd.

All of them are somewhat on the "heavy" side... like mine... Giselle in particular gives me the creeps. There's something very cold about it... I picture a dominatrix or a jail guard. Sorry if it happens to be yours...

You see, Julia can easily go by Julie (or Tamara by Tammy, let's say), but Julia and Julie have very different "weight" IMO. Of course, you can be a Julie only for so long... It'll sound kinda weird past certain age.

I believe names have an impact on people's lives. I think people with light-hearted, perky, and bubbly names have easier lives.
