I've been emailing a girl from an online dating site. I called her today and we chatted briefly and I set up a date for this week. However, I realized she's a really big Chicago Bears fan, a pretty intense one. I happen to be a very passionate Minnesota Vikings fan. I can respect other religions and beliefs, even if they are for division rivals, but I don't know if she can. Should I be upfront for my feelings towards my football team, or should I bite my tongue and bring it up later if it develops into a relationship?
Just be upfront about it. We're talking about sports teams here, nothing major. If she rejects you then that's her problem.
Well, guess the OP is working so can't respond, which only goes to prove that there really are real people out there who shut off their cellphones while on the job and don't use the company internet for their own purposes. Hooray!
Poor shmucks. But a guess isn't proof. How do we know he isn't taking a nap or playing Mafia Wars or making it seem like he shuts off his phone while on the job and doesn't use the company internet for his own purposes? Hmmmm?
I do not know a lot about sports, but I would hardly think a fan's loyalty to a ball team would be a deal breaker. If it is, you probably didn't need to be with somebody like that anyways.
Wow people are crazy. As the OP I already said I didn't have a problem with it, but I know bears fans and she claims she's an intense one... I'm more worried she would reject ME as a Vikings fan...not that I would reject her based on it. I said I could look past it. Read the f uc ki ng words on the screen.
Bears fans are intense and based in what I know about women and the posts on city data....common women WOULD not date a guy based on a sports team difference.
I'm just kidding. I see no reason not to have a friendly rivalry if neither of you is a raging nutbag.
I agree.
The most important thing here is that you are BOTH sports fans which is far better than many people get. I am a far bigger football fan than my husband, although he enjoys it occasionally. I'll watch almost every game, every week. He's only good for 1 game usually, but has no problem with me watching more if I choose.
Are you kidding me with this? So you agree to disagree. Have fun with it. The only time you might have a problem is if you decide to go to a game together where both teams are playing. I mean where would you sit without one of you getting clobbered?
