Has anyone experienced this on other Forums here at C-D or elsewhere?
I originally joined C-D to get some info about local affairs. At the time, I quickly found what I was seeking and then, to my chagrin, I found Relationships. I forgot about that first forum in short order.
Now when I go back to visit that original forum, I'm struck by how it seems to be dominated by one or two members. Said members shout down any opinions different than their own, and usually a gaggle of supporting players will chime in with a chorus of "Yeah!", "Tell it to him!" and "Hey, Moe!"
I have a suspicion that "Politics" (or whatever it's called here - not one of my interests) might be like that, but I could be wrong.
Experiences?

Yeah that was exactly how I found this place. Looking for stuff about where I live - and then did some exploring on the fourms. Not sure why Relationships holds my attention...I guess I just find them more interesting than the others.

Thanks, CM - I think a lot of us ended up here like that. Well, that or being shanghaied...
But what I was looking for (and I realize I worded it wrong - sorry) was to see if there are other experiences here with a group of forum "trendsetters" (i.e.-bullies, kings and queens of the roost) - sort of a "members only" kind of atmosphere.
Just didn't know if it was a common thing here.

I came across CD when I was looking up zip codes in my area. I think at the time I wanted to see percentages depending on zip code of people who were divorced. Unfortunately, the numbers where I live are absolutely enormous. The rest is somewhat obscure to me-how I ended up here. All I remember is that some members were so great, I just had to come back and did it over and over. I remember that the Relationships forum was everything I had ever dreamed of cus it had so many answers to so many questions about relationships I had had all my life. It was like my new bestgirl friend.

Sorry, I was in the middle of the post and my bro called - he and my dad are at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and he just had to call me and gloat.
Yes I have defintely had such an experience. It was on the Weight Watchers forums, and there was one particular "room" where people could post OT stuff...man that was a gal there that was incredible. I could not see how she could have had much of a life outside of that place, as she posted at all hours, 24/7. And God help you if you posted in conflict with something she posted. Yeesh! Her posse would eat most poor souls alive. Hard to understand how people get that puffed up about people they don't even know.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I kind of thought there'd be other stories like mine.

This is exactly what happened with me. Stumbled upon the site looking for info about possible places to relocate. Didn't even realize there were forums until the third or fourth time I visited the site. I understood that the people posting in the "places" forums would likely either love or hate the place they were posting about - after all, if you're ambivalent, why bother?
But I noticed immediately that certain people had to have their word. About everything. So somehow I found myself in relationships and now unfortunately I am an addict...
