1986, I was a senior high school, she a junior high school when we became steady. I joined the navy for 4 years; while she finished college. After the Navy, I went to college and spent her last year. After I graduated and got a job, we got married in 1995, which was 9 years later.
House, 3 kids, and still married 14 years last July.
Here's two completely different high school sweetheart stories:
My son dated a girl starting during their Jr years ... dated 6 1/2 years, got married ... less than a year in, she broke their vows ... they're divorced now.
Classmates of mine, A & R, dated in 10-11 gr, had one of those tragic teenage breakups ... 35 years later, they were both single again, started talking at a reunion ... they married 2 months ago.
I've known my husband since we were high school freshmen together, and we went on a couple of dates, but we didn't start to seriously date until several years later. People assume we were high school sweethearts, but we weren't really.
I am just curious how many actually marry their HS sweetheart
I did
