My sons first date/dance...
OK, my son is getting ready to go to his first dance which also happens to be his first date! I am not sure if I am happy or sad...
Anyway, while I was ironing his clothes I went through the etiquette check list...
1) be sure to open the doors for her at the restaurant and dance.
2) be sure to pull the chair for her at the restaurant and dance.
3) be sure to offer to get refreshments for her at the dance.
4) even if he is having a terrible time, he should not leave her alone at the dance.
5) and of course, watch his manners (he has very good manners so I am not too worried about that).
Anyway, I guess I was wondering if any of your parents had this talk with you all when preparing for your first date/dance. Do you all remember it and what did they tell you? I can't wait to hear Mr.Cat's responses to this

How about having some breath mints in his pockets? Unless he's taken care of that already.
I went to one high school dance, and since I was the girl, my father instructed my date to bring me home by the time given.

If it does happen, tell him to refer to chapter 17 of the kama sutra.

Aw, that's sweet, mrstewart. Here's a hankie.
Something tells me he has good role models on how "girls" and "boys" should treat each other.
