A wise woman told me one time, if your making love frequently in a marriage, it doesn't annoy you so much when he leaves the cap off the toothpaste or his clothes on the ground, in short it smoothes over the rough edges...

i believe a healthy sex life reflects a healthy relationship..its easy to say, leave all your worries and tensions at the bedroom door, dont let it interfere, and dont use sex as a manipulator,,,but im guessing it happens all the time,,
a wise man will grow into a good/great lover,,, but the woman has to step to the plate and tell the guy what she likes,,,,yet i hear,,,woman (early on) many are quite modest about this,,,well you shouldnt be!! every woman is different and we werent given an instruction manual,,,,just for you,,,when we met you,,so we have to learn as we go,,

as far as how often a week?? i believe there isnt any norm,,there may be averages,,but it doesnt pertain to all,,i also believe,,that some woman do have some hang-ups,,,but very reluctant ,,to share with partner,,,
but here is a change with culture also,,compared to 50 years ago,,more woman are comfortable with themselves at an early age,(im talkin 20's/30's)
thinking over my past relationships,,,something happens to a woman,,when she nears the age of 30,,its like the orgasm fairy came,,,and blessed her,,(i had a woman jokingly tell me that)

I was raised Seventh Day Adventist...

When I was a senior in Academy, the minister from the local church came to tell us about Adventist marriage. He AND his wife were standing there talking, the minister said that "oral sex is not natural, it upsets normal body chemistry", my good friend (a guy) shouts out "only if your doing it right!"

Everytime I saw that poor man I thought of that exchange and the enjoyment both he and his wife were missing...

Well, sex is treated pretty much the same way in the Catholic church.
I remember being told time and again how it was for procreative purposes only (actually that is the official teaching).
I know about the SA view as well, I grew up not far from Loma Linda and had a friend in the Academy.

I knew a lady once who said the sex she enjoyed most was with herself. She said she didn't like sex because she always felt like she needed a shower when it was over.

Dingler... I'm not sure if you can do it without being crude but if you can I would be interested to hear why you prefer masturbation to sexual intercourse. Have you always felt this way or is it the partner you are with? Could you be homosexual (I ask this seeking information, not to attack you)?
