I wouldn't want just a brainy intellectual type. She'd have to be attractive, funny, creative, caring and a good mother.

My current partner is all of those things. She's smart without being pretentious. And about equal to my intelligence. Plus we share mostly the same beliefs about things, which is a plus.

I wouldn't mind a woman smarter, but she'd have to have all of the other same qualities and not flaunt the fact that she's smarter than me.

I only want a "brainy intellectual" as a friend OR a classmate (in which to cheat off their paper)!! However, I only have 1 friend slot for a brainy intellectual....can't handle too many smart a** people in my life, you know!

I had great SAT and GRE scores. Up to recently I worked in an academic environment in research. I am usually the smartest woman in the room.

I find in general people do not like smart women or men. The most popular kids are usually into beer, sports and carrying on. That seems to be the case in the adult world also. I run into very few people who really follow current events or read non fiction books. Most people are intellectually lazy and uninterested.

If you were looking for a friend or a spouse, would you want the smartest person in the room or someone who is just about average? What do you think about brainy intellectual types?

(This question is not about me or my silly questions or posts, just the concept of friendships with really smart people)
Smart people are always more charming when they don't tell you about it.

Hi seeniorita,

I never had a problem being surrounded by group of young intelligent women especially when the room is a little warm. The smart thing to do would be to begin removing any insulating material.

If all "brainy intellectual" types posted the stupid idiotic ignorant topics the OP did, our generation of intellectuals are doomed for life.

It was all of the intellect oozing out of the women making the room warm. By isulating material do you mean clothes or R-13 rated insulating material of the roll or blown type? (don't dare go there with the "blown" comment)

YES!! But only if you have a sense of humor as well and are not a complete pretentious ass all the time. I do love intelligence and intellect!

I think you have to be smart to have a really good sense of humor. You have to understand things in order to twist them around enough to make them funny. Dumb people are limited to laughing at people getting hit in the crotch.
