Ok, maybe I have watched too much Jerry Springer in my day but I can't believe that people STILL use this excuse!
I have always said alcohol is "liquid courage". It makes some people say or do things they "thought about or wanted to do" but would not under normal circumstances.
Would you buy this? Could you forgive and move on with that person if they did something like cheated or said something awful to you under the influence of alcohol?
Well, if you're a guy and you've had too much to drink, it gets really hard to complete the act, so to speak. So, you're either sober enough to know better or too drunk to perform, big guy.
On the other hand, a woman getting a snootful and then getting plowed like an Iowa cornfield might be an entirely different story.

So if this is true for men, they are not "drunk" if they decide to cheat....very interesting.

It's a matter of degrees. You're drunk. But not so drunk that it should impair judgement.
Here's a philosophical question, however. When the subject of cheating comes up, why does the conversation almost always default to the behavior of men? Last survey I read, women were cheating with almost as much frequency nowadays as men.

Hey, my OP was not gender specific. I also recently heard that women cheating is on the rise (men 20% / women 17%).
I just thought it was interesting that if men can't perform while under these conditions then why does it happen so often. But I see your point....varying degrees.

Its a hypothetical question posed to forum of a majority of women.
I would not buy it. I have been about as s-faced as it gets....well I never blacked out or anything but...no...would not buy it.
I also agree on the drinking and things working. If you actually had alcohol poisoning to the point of being delusional your thing is not going to do its thang as a dude.
Interesting enough though drinking does raise estrogen in females so perhaps it could be a chemical inducer to bedroom antics in females. But still..would not buy that either.
It's true in that alcohol does lower inhibitions and so on and so forth.
But, it's also a pathetic excuse. Did someone force those 8 tequila shots down your throat? Didn't think so.
