I am not seeking status through a partner. I can achieve that on my own. I want an equal partner.

Most modern women don't even know what their dating status is which is really what this is about. You cannot achieve a status. You simply have one at any given time. This is especially true of women.
If women were were so satisfied with the ordinary, that means the only problem here is with men. That is an ever so popular belief among women. There is just something wrong with men. We are not the product of eons of survival and reproduction. There is just something wrong with men. You will find men with the same position with the women being the whole problem.
As with any research or experimentation, the conclusion proves the nature of the premise. Its not simple, hence the premise is wrong. The actual list is incomplete.
want lists are meaningless if made out by women.
The men think if they meet the list they are good to go, nonsense.
I have been told as much many times by women.
A want list by a woman is like the employer who advertises for an MBA
with 10 years of experience, after interviewing ten, he hires his brother in law who is a tweaker and a high school drop out.
So true. Rather than making a reasonable list and looking for men who meet the important standards, women go with some "candidates" that meet their fancy and hope that they either meet their real needs or that they can change them after marriage.
Unfortunately for women, the type who attracts them is almost always the type who not only is lacking in important attributes but is very resistant to change.
Most women should understand this because many more of them have had this experience with their parents than males. So ask yourself this:
If you are the type who is treated well, just for being yourself, would you be easy to change, or even willing?
I hear this from many divorced men. I didn't change. Why did she?
Meanwhile, for men who lack the instant appeal, women are eagerly looking for any reason to kick them to the curb. Usually, its something they didn't interpret correctly - a misunderstanding - but hey, they can now tell their girlfriends they had a reason and so are not capricious.

There is just something wrong with men. You will find men with the same position with the women being the whole problem.
