They were unmarked and it was up to my nephew while he was holding the box who it belonged to. Every year my mother got the coal.

Good to know! I know a couple of people with 50th b.days coming up in 2010 and I'm going to need some ideas

My friend turned 50 last year and we had a cake made and had "Fifty...the REAL 'F' word" written on it...huge hit

Every year I give my nephew one dollar for every year that he is. I put together this whole chinese party in a box to send to him. I pulled up all the Chinese zodiac signs and wrote who in the family was what and went to a restaurant and got a carry out container of fortune cookies and found a gold one with a clasp that opened and put the money in it at the bottom of the carton of cookies.

One year I poked a hole in each side of an egg (takes a steady and careful hand) and blew out the insides, soaked it in bleach, put the money inside, spakled it and spray painted it gold - you'd never know it was tampered with.

Sort of like Easter confetti eggs. That sounds like a decorative way to get some nice cash. Great idea.
