There is a difference between a "witch like woman" and a woman who is assertive by nature. The witch does not care who is the receipient of her wrath and those who are scared/intimidated by her leave much to be desired in the self-esteem department. In my opinion a term like "well respected" is debatable.

A woman who is assertive by nature has the finesse and ability to know the appropriate audience and timing in which to display her powerful personality. This would classify as "well respected" IMO.

Sadly and unfairly, the two are often confused which leads to generalization. **sigh**
