I also want to add that my gut instincts are never driven by fear. I am not a fearful person. In fact, I am a very calm and logical person that works well under pressure. And I do like to think about things and be proactive in avoiding unpleasantness.
So please do not be thinking that I feel scared when I encounter strange men and that I am plotting how to escape their clutches unscathed. I am not at all like Obama's late white grandmother that clutched her purse more closely to her when she saw black men on the streets.
