A woman at work is just brilliant. She has all the smarts in the world. A super high IQ, academic qualifications (top of her class at a Ivy League School), lots of common sense, incredible knowledge about a wide variety of things and great life skills. She is just so smart and talented.

Yes she has great social skills also and is good looking. But because she is so smart and loves to continue to challenge her mind with intellectual thoughts-- few men seem interested.

Because of her genius she has little in common with the average person. She does not go around and tell everyone how smart she is, but you can tell she is one in a thousand.

Would a woman like that scare you or intimidate you? Would you be interested in dating the smartest person in the room?

per OP
if i have a reasonable fear that she will attempt to manipulate and control me if i get close, why would i pick the smartest woman in the room?
how bout instead i pick the best human being in the room? her looks or smarts would be far less important and far less relevant to the outcome.

YES!!!!

When I married my late wife, I married the smartest person I'd ever met, and she was wonderful. Oh, and she had big boobs too, Robert.

I never had to explain much to her, 'cause if she didn't already understand exactly what I was talking about, she caught on quickly. We talked constantly. She understood me and knew how to please me. She could help me with my business, no matter what kind of help I needed. We were never bored as long as we had each other.

Of course, they gotta have the other qualities that make a good partner -- caring, loving, understanding, sexy, etc., etc. That's why you date, to see how you are together. But don't ever let intelligence scare you away.

Hi Stranded and Lonely,

In a second I would want to date her. I used to say that I wanted to be the dumb one knowing I'd excel. However the only problem is she may have sensed my charm is mostly based on misdirection and fast talking blarney.

I'm sure there are lots of smart, Ivy League gentlemen who would jump at the chance. It's interesting to look at the intermarriage rates between competitive schools. I think it's something like 40% of students at Scripps College (a top ranked women's college) marry students from Harvey Mudd (the top ranked engineering college after MIT and Caltech).
