lots of hostile posts on paris? did not expect this on a relationship thread late at night. i was born here lived there for many years.
i dont feel the same at all. as to the horror stories of the banlieu-- you can find that in detroit.
as to hating americans, the french have no monopoly on that. for that matter, americans hate americans, read the relationship theads on CDF. america has a lot in common with france. france has been around a lot longer-- we could well learn much from them.

I was simply relaying an experience I had. Conversing with AC. Nothing more, nothing less
Try North Omaha. Poorest African American community in the US.
Yes, but is it the most featured city on COPS? I used 3rd world as an exaggerated adjective, it's mostly white people and I did correct myself and say the biggest landfill.
I had to do an acquisition audit and we each got a different section and town and the one guy in the van, after we were picked up from the airport, in the back seat opened his assignment up and said "CAMDEN? CAMDEN? I don't want Camden I've seen it on COPS too many times. Anyone want to trade?"
When I did go see it I was absolutely flabbergahsted and I'm quite familiar with Detroit. The garbage everywhere was unbelievable especially inbetween the houses directly across from the landfill. But you could hear gun shots and I wanted the hell out of the.
The most startling thing is Campbell's Soup's canning plant is right smack in the middle on a spotless manicured lawn but it's behind a prison fence with barbed wire all around it and security guards all the way around it.
Imagine this (which is a picture of Camden) with garbage in between the buidings up to the roof of the red building and curtains flying in window holes with no windos. I've been to Jamaica and the way people live there isn't much better but without all the garbage stacked up.
Do you think anybody read it? If they did, they sure didn't care...maybe there's a sequel . Made me think of something, there are a lot of "classics" that I never read. My major wasn't English or Literature. The only classic I really enjoyed and understood was Frankenstein. I love reading, I'm working on two books right now. I wonder if I should go back and read those classics.
If any of you have read any good ones, suggestions welcome. I also read Animal Farm and 1984 by that other guy. You know who I'm talking about.
Death of A Salesman
To Kill A Mockingbird
Grapes of Wrath
Self Reliance - Ralph Waldo Emerson - or anything by him I love.
Awwwe dang, man, you are the healthiest person in here with the way you eat and workout and take care of yourself and you are the one that ends up sick - it ain't fair, it just ain't fair.

I never get cold often, this is the first in like a year and when it comes by, it lasts a while
I have some important meetings in the am and after that I'm planning to flee.
Good for you. Someone will be around to help nurse you back to health with some laughter around here - mostly at your antlered expense.
