I had to look it up finally! I know the song, of course, but didn't associate it with the title.
Reminded me of the floating gardens in Mexico City. That was a cool experience! I couldn't find a picture with mariacchi on it, but they were playing on many of the boats.
You know, Hawk, I also tried to play accordion at the same age 'cause I wasn't doing very well in my Music class.
The two neighbor brothers were pretty good, they played at weddings & Polka's, etc.

Well my Dad got orders fer us to move to Mannheim, Germany. The teachers there tried to teach accordian a completely different way...so we lost interest... gave it up.

I used to live in the university area back in Charlotte, then in South Charlotte and also briefly in Charlotte downtown.
The weekends in downtown rocks coz the prettiest women in the world come out of their burrows and just hang around I just love Charlotte. I still miss it.
I doubt even in Germany, even in those days, a 12-year-old would get a beer... Come to think of it, though, all of us kids were sent to the stores to buy beer for the household, so we could've drunk it if we wanted to.
