This question mostly concerns the college-age set or those that remember their college years:

What makes a party 'wild'?

And what do people mean when they say "she knows how to party" or "Cedar Hall girls know how to party", etc. What exactly is this knowledge of how to party?

For me a wild party is one where people are doing really funny and crazy things. (Not just crazy or stupid)

Where you can 'feel' that the room/ space has a real exciting energy of it's own.

I used to be a person that people said "Knew how to party" it pretty much meant that I was outgoing, eager to try anything and do anything for a laugh.

I'd laugh a lot and I know how to make other people feel good. I guess I still know 'how to party' but I'm 32 now and most of my friends are past it.

I'm still a fun loving kid at heart.

When the police are called you know you've had a successful wild party.

Meaning they drink a lot. Fun parties don't happen when people just have one or two drinks. Those "Cedar Hall" girls know how to party because each one drinks a whole bottle of wine. Usually leads to drinking games, bumping and grinding types of dancing, someone falling down or acting totally ridiculous, sometimes articles of clothing coming off, etc.

Depending on what crowd you're talking about, it could involve open marijuana use, or harder drugs but more discreetly.

Depends...I can think of some "wild parties" where alcohol isn't served or allowed on premise. Although this doesn't usually happen on college campuses or within the college crowd.

Given todays culture, it is centered around willful destructive behaviour disguised as 'fun' ; that of course includes but is not limited to the following relentless Mass Media influence and promotion of : Illicit Sex, mood or mind altering substances , and provocative / careless / deviant behaviour. In short, the more ones senses were stimulated and titilized , the better the Party was (despite any subsequent fallout thereof) . Does this have a ring of truth to it ?

I agree with the above statement, except it is not my idea of having fun. That is why a "wild party" usually involves the young and/or immature.

Oh, and don't forget what goes hand and hand with the over consumption of alcohol! You know, the great look and smell of vomit.

Ah yes, good times...NOT!

Right! Usually those types are even wilder. The booze is normally smuggled in.
