I once saw a card a woman sent out with the words "Simplify, Simplify, Simplify" on the front and when you opened it there was nothing but her name printed in it with a line going through her last name. A divorce card --Hallmark does make a card for every occasion.
Oh yeah...I let it go until I was fantasizing about how he would die and what I'd wear to the funeral.
LMAO -- Leave it to a woman to fantasize about what to wear to the funeral!
I can't say I felt "free" or danced around in celebration, but neither did I feel sad, which is what I thought I was supposed to feel. It was just another day, and I was glad the divorce proceedings were finished and I wouldn't be getting more charges from my attorney.
It took my ex 5 years to finally agree to just signing the papers....(slow attorney, and some legwork on my part)......I guess he thought that if he waited long enough, I would 'come around'...NOT!!! I remember the day my divorce was finalized, I went to the bar and danced, danced, danced the night away! What fun, and what a relief to be done with a relationship that was going absolutely nowhere!
Freedom is very empowering and invigorating at first, but it can get old too- u just have to remember to recharge and be ware... u can get so caught up in ur independence til u r no longer fit for marriage and u don't hav the patience for long term relationships. Congrats to the OP.
