You're talking about expired prescriptions, mrstewart didn't state expired, just a year later which means the prescribed medicine may still in fact be current.

BUT I would ban it from my house. I don't allow drugs in my home. Only ibuprofen. I won't even take a prescription from a doctor. But I don't understand why they just don't legalize it. It could be good".....

I read..."I don't know what I am talking about, but only what movies like Reefer Madness and the News has told me.
I do not smoke. I don't care if my friends smoke, or someone I date. I don't want it in my home and I wouldn't care if it was legalized.

How is that wishy washy?

Yes, unless you're taking it for some recurring problem, prescriptions will generally expire--and a lot shorter than one year. I said there wasn't an issue with people taking currently prescribed medications--just that I never would.

Most birth control prescriptions last a year - annual exam to annual exam.

^So far, you've found ONE example. How about Percocet, Valium, Ritalin, Lipitor, Depakote, Viagra...? You're either authorized to get refills in a certain amount of time, or you have to go back to the doctor to get your refill, i.e. a new prescription for the medication.

I know someone who couldn't get his albuterol prescription refilled, because even though he was supposed to have refills, he didn't use the refills in the given amount of time. So he had to go BACK to the doctor to get his medication.
